KATIE LOU GATENS, 80, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, in Heartland Riverview. She was born November 1, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late C.R. and Minnie Lou Watson. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald William Gatens, a brother Shannon Watson and sisters Barbara J. Jones and June Almaker. She is survived by a daughter Kathy (Jim) Bailey of Huntington, W.Va., and son Donald W. Gatens II (Dawn Marie Kinser) of Huntington; granddaughter Amie (Patrick) Fawks of Huntington and grandson Patrick James Bailey of Huntington; great-granddaughter Maidson Dawn Fawks of Huntington and great-grandsons Mason John Fawks and Max James Fawks of Huntington; grandsons Corey and Jake Romans and Jack Kitchin and granddaughter Athena Dawn Kitchin. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Friday, October 26, 2018, at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon Friday at the Reger Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.regerfh.com.
