Rev. Harvie Black Jr., 77, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the St. Mary�s Medical Center. He was born September 26, 1931 in Milton, WV to the late Harvey Clyde and Plura Jane (Skaggs) Black. Mr. Black was employed by the West Virginia Electric Company for 48 years. Rev. Black was a former Pastor of the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church and the 13th St. Tabernacle. He was the founding Pastor of the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church and the Unity Freewill Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Naomi Stamper who preceded him in death. To this union were born two daughters and two sons, Donna Gail Falls of Huntington, WV, Deborah Lynn Malone who preceded him in death, Steven Darrell and Carol Black of South Point, OH, and David Brent and Judy Black of Huntington, WV. Mr. Black is survived by seven grandchildren Lisa and her husband Brian McClure, Sara and her husband Mark Spencer, Ami Miller, Mari Bilderback, Erin Walters, Stephanie Malone, and Jason Black; two Great-Grandchildren, Tyler Spencer and Ashley McClure. Other survivors include two brothers, Gene Black and Gary Black, and very special friends Gene and Betty Hobstetter and Connie Pridemore, along with a host of other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, wife, and daughter, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Matthew Malone, a sister Delores Brammer, and a brother Harold Black. Funeral services for Rev. Black will be conducted at 2pm Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Mullens officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point, OH. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Saturday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home.
