Stephen Ray Amis, a man whose life was a testament to the virtues of unwavering loyalty, kindness, and selflessness went to his Heavenly home on January 6, 2025 at the age of 68. He was born on January 27, 1956 to the late Betty and Oley Amis. Stephen was a graduate of Buffalo High School Class of 1975. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as well as the National Guard 1257 Transportation Company. He also proudly served the Town of Ceredo as a dispatcher for 43 years. He was currently employed at Cabell Huntington Hospital surrounded by a work family he dearly loved. He was also a member of England Hill FWB Church. Stephen was reunited in Heaven with his loving parents Betty and Oley Amis, his brother Max Amis, and his beloved son Stephen "Bub" Amis. He will be remembered with love by his wife Patricia Amis, whom he had loved for 45 years, his daughter Carrie Amis Merritt (Shawn), his precious grandchildren, Sophia and Colton Amis, Kellan Wolfe, Brynleigh and Drevyn Merritt, his sisters Penny Amis Blake and Tammy Amis, a special sister in law Pamela Carter as well as many other family and friends.. Stephen's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Cabell Huntington ICU for the wonderful care they provided during his illness. Services will be conducted on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 1 pm at the Reger Funeral Home Ceredo Kenova Chapel by his nephew Jeremy Carter. Burial to follow in the Maple Hill Section of Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Reger Funeral Home Ceredo-Kenova Chapel.
