Sylvia May Thomas Keown, 82 of Huntington, WV went to her heavenly home on June 14, 2016 at Madison Park Assisted Living. She was born on January 7, 1934 in Fall River, MA; a daughter of Dr. Albert Clark Thomas and Loretta Barner Thomas. She was a member of the Spring Valley Freedom Baptist Church and a secretary of the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Ann Elyse Ellis, and her brothers, Robert and Chester Thomas. She leaves behind to mourn her loss her husband of nearly 58 years, Robert Theodore Keown; her children: Laura Keown, Theodore �Ted� Keown (Charla), Cynthia �Cindy� Ellis (Don) and Priscilla Midkiff (Scott). Also surviving are her 7 grandchildren: Jessica Rutherford (Dustin), Chelsi McLain (Nicholas), Kristen Keown, Nicole Keown, Mitchell Ellis, Ryon Andreae, Michael Ellis and one great-grandchild, Aubrey Rutherford. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff at Madison Park and Grayson Assisted Living, Pastor Pat Elliott, her church family and Jeannie Sheets for all their support, care, cards and gifts. Her cremains will be buried at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. A memorial service for Sylvia will be held at Spring Valley Freedom Baptist Church on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. with visitation from 11 to 1.
