Wortie Leola Rose

Wortie Leola Rose, 100, of Huntington, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at her residence. A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Jamie Gump at 1 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Madison Avenue Christian Church. She was born on November 16, 1916 in Dunngannon, VA., the daughter of the late Joseph and Maude Powers Singleton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband: Alfred Rose, siblings: Paul Singleton, Jesse Singleton (Louise) and Inez Jermyn (Ray). She is survived by her son : Jackie Hearld and Bonnie Grimmett, two granddaughters and spouses: Jackie (Todd) McMullen and Kelly (Randy) Huffman. Great grandchildren and spouses: Luke(Kim) Huffman, Jacob (Rachel) Freeking, Jared Fredeking, Dustin (Stephanie) Huffman, Kylee (EJ) McMullen-Hassan, great great grandchildren: Kelsey Huffman, Branden Fredeking, Roman Fredeking. one sister in law: Elsie Singleton and many nieces and nephews. She worked for the Five and Dime Store, Huntington Wood Mosaic and retired Cook for Cabell County Schools and was the cook of the year for delicious rolls. A lifetime member of Madison Avenue Christian Church. She enjoyed everyday life and focused on her family, church, friends and pets. She loved flowers and always kept a smile and a kind word.
