Albert Edward �Pop� Sansom, 93 of Huntington, WV passed away on February 4, 2016 at Huntington Health & Rehab. He was born on February 5, 1922 in Wayne County, WV; a son of the late Hershel Lee Sansom Sr. and Elsie May Frasher Sansom. Albert was an inspector for the WV Dept. of Highways. He proudly served his country in the US Marines and the US Army. He was preceded in death by his wife Eloise Christian Sansom; his sons: Homer and Paul Sansom; brothers: Howard, Junior, Tommy, Everett and Don Sansom; his sisters: Maxine Smith, Nora Queen and Gracie Queen and three grandchildren. Albert is survived by his daughter, Sandra Sansom and his son, Lloyd Sansom (Debbie); 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Visitation for Albert will be on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 8, 2016 at noon with MacDonald Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated, however, in lieu of flowers, contributions to the VAMC. Attn: Voluntary Service, 1540 Spring Valley Drive, Huntington, WV 25704.
