Alice Ann Santo

July 11, 1938 — September 11, 2024

Alice Ann Santo, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on July 11, 1938, in Huntington, WV, Alice was known for her kind heart, artistic talents, and dedication to her family.

Alice attended Marshall University, where she was a proud member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and the Newman Club. She carried her love for learning, music, and art throughout her life, sharing her creativity and talents with those around her. Whether she was playing the piano or creating beautiful works of art, Alice's abilities were admired by many. She also enjoyed a good game of bridge and wasn’t afraid to show her competitive side.

A devout and gracious woman, Alice embodied elegance and kindness in all that she did. She was deeply rooted in her faith and lived with a sense of grace and compassion that touched everyone she encountered. A devoted wife to her late husband Phillip Santo, and a true lady in every sense, Alice carried herself with dignity and humility while offering love and support to all who needed it.

Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Phillip Santo; her parents, Regis and Mary Alice DePrie; and her brothers, William and Gerald DePrie. She is survived by her five devoted daughters: Stephanie Santo, Allyson Santo, Sarah Santo, Rachael Brickett and her husband Brian, and Mary Alice Santo. Alice's legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Regis Brickett and Sydney Johnson, as well as Sydney’s husband Bobby Johnson and their daughter, Alice’s great-granddaughter Birdie Johnson.

Alice will also be remembered by her nieces and nephew: Renee DePrie, Jon DePrie, Robin Santo, and Jennifer Santo and loving sister in law Kathy Deprie.

A sweet soul with a bit of an ornery side, Alice was always there to listen and offer support, especially with five daughters who kept her on her toes. Her family will forever cherish the love, wisdom, and laughter she shared with them.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Alice’s name to Hospice, in gratitude for their compassionate care and support.

Alice’s family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
