Arnold "Junior" Bias, Jr.

Arnold "Junior" Bias, Jr., 84, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Ray Williamson and Pastor Phil Williamson on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 1pm at Faith Freewill Baptist Church, 105 Carolyn Dr, Lavalette, WV 25535. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Junior was born on April 21, 1939 in Cabin Creek, W.Va. a son of the late Arnold and Oceanna Bias. Junior was a carpet installer and owner of Bias Carpet Service. He was also a deacon at Faith Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents Junior is preceded in death by one brother, Lemach "Buck" Bias; and two sisters, Della Mae Moore Coldiron and Mazie Plybon. Junior is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Denitta "Sue" Chafins Bias; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Lynn (Larry) Bortel; three grandchildren, April Dawn Lucas of Merritt Island, Fla., Joshua (Anna) Lucas of Charleston, W.Va., and Dakota Tyler (Samantha) Bortel of Parkersburg, W.Va.; five great grandchildren, Amelia, Sophia, Alayna, Zaydin, and Marcus; two brothers, Dewey (Phyllis) Bias and Dorsey (Faye) Bias; and three sister, Mary (Chuck) Pennington, Oma (Ernest) Smith, and Joyce Barrett Ellis. The family would like to thank the caring staff of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their kindness and gentle care of Junior. They would also like to thank Home Healthcare of Hospice staff, Sandy, Jackie, Missy, and Kimberly for their kindness and gentle care. Flower donations will be accepted at the church or at the funeral home prior to the visitation times.
