Ben Chambers, 82, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Bob McGlone at 12 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Ben was born on March 15, 1942 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Arthur Faye and Pauline Mildred Kincaid Chambers, Jr. Ben was a 1960 graduate of Vinson High School, a Marshall basketball player and 1965 graduate of Marshall University. He worked at JCPenney from 1965 to 1997. He was a lifelong member of Vinson Memorial Christian Church where he was an elder. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #32 A.F. & A.M. of Ceredo, and a member of the Big Green Club at Marshall University. Ben hosted and loved his annual family vacations to Walt Disney World. When he retired he enjoyed his mornings with his buddies at Loudermilk's Gas Station where he worked when he was in high school. Ben is survived by his wife of 62 years, Debbie Chambers (a wonderful side note - Ben was her paperboy when he was in high school). He is also survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Cara (Chuck) Donohoo and Patricia (Larry) Blake; grandchildren, Candice (Matt) Ward, Cory (Ginger) Donohoo, and Kayla Blake; great grandchildren, Mason and Carrigan Ward and Colton and Emmy Donohoo; and one brother and sister-in-law, Carter (Kathy) Chambers. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington.
