BERTHA M. VINSON, 87, of Huntington, widow of Jackson L. Vinson, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Joseph Jarrett. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Greenup, Ky. She was born Aug. 7, 1916, in Kenova, W.Va., a daughter of the late Elisha H. and Grace Staley Murphy. She was a retired purchaser for the former T.A. Nasser Co. of Huntington, with 25 years of service. She was a 50-year plus member of the Marcum Chapter O.E.S. #61 of Ceredo, whose members will conduct services at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Bertha was a member of the Westmoreland United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Naomi Ladies Circle, the Phillips Sunday School class and a former member of the administrative board. She was a member of the Forever Young Senior Citizen Tour Group, with whom she took numerous cruises and European trips. Survivors include a cousin, Mrs. Roy M. Hawes of St. Thomas, Pa., as well as a host of friends. The family wishes to give special thanks to the caregivers, Ruby, Polly, Teresa, Millie, Linda, Edna, Evelyn and her special friends, Lonnie Carpenter and his wife, Edna, and a special thanks is also extended to Hospice of Huntington.
