Betty Jean Ronk Dixon, 79, of Huntington, WV passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Saint Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 2:30 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bonnie Boyce. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Betty was born May 13, 1936 in Milton WV the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Black Ronk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Charles ( ) Dixon, son Darrell Dixon and grandson Zechariah Dixon. Sister and brother in law: Carol and James Wheeler. Betty was a cosmetologist and former owner of Betty and Carol’s Hair Fashions, Hair Shed and Legacy Hair Design all of Huntington for over 42 years. She was a member of Spring Valley Presbyterian Church where she served as a past elder and volunteered in the churches food pantry. She was dedicated to the Boy Scout and Scout Troop 92. Betty served on the Wayne County Democrat Executive Committee and was the Democrat Committee woman for Westmoreland District for many years. She was the past recipient of Wayne County’s Democrat of the Year. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Marcum Chapter No. 61, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 93. Betty is survived by her daughter and son in law: Dianna and Tommy Bolling of Huntington, grandchildren; Dustin and Andra Noble and Misty and Justin Riddle. Great grandchildren: Hailey and Maddy Riddle, Maddox and Korie Noble and Alex Dixon and soon to be born Reyan Conner Dixon. Brothers and sisters in law; Robert and Juanita Ronk and Jim and Becky Ronk all of Huntington. Sister and brother in law: Mary Jo and Earl Waugh of Winchester, Ky. And many nieces, nephews cousins and friends The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Brownfield and the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s for their skilled and compassionate care. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home. She impacted many lives with her unconditional love and support of her family and community and she will never be forgotten.
