Betty Joann Howerton

Betty Joann Adams Howerton, 82, of Huntington, WV, was called home on Sunday February 19, 2012, from the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Carl Black and Jason Adams. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Betty was born January 5, 1930, in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late Delbert C. “Joe” and Ida McGraw Adams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Homer “Shot” Howerton; a son Chris Howerton; five brothers Dilver, Danny, Paul Denver, Dale and Darrell and two sisters Barbara and Bonnie. Survivors include her children and their spouses Michael and Lora Howerton, Deborah and Jack Hicks, Jimmy and Kathy Howerton, Katie and Mark Pyles and Mark and Karen Howerton all of Huntington, Teresa and John Hays of Jefferson, GA.; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters in law Delbert Adams Jr. and his wife Barbara, David Adams, Jim Blevins and Dwayne and Linda Adams; two sisters and a brother in law Beatrice Parsons and Brenda and Bob Wiseman and numerous nieces and nephews.
