Bobby Ray Saunders

Bobby Ray Saunders, 72, of Ceredo entered into the loving embrace of our Lord and Savior Monday, October 16, 2006 at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Saunders was born May 22, 1934 in Wayne County a son to the late Sadie (Artrip) Saunders and Jake Saunders. He was a retired Carpenter having worked 55 years with Local #302 of Huntington of which he served as President. He was an EMT and Volunteer Firefighter with the Ceredo Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Saunders was preceded in death by his spouses Billie (Patterson) Saunders and Susan (Swann) Saunders; and a brother John Saunders. Survivors include four children; Robert Ray Saunders & Estelle Hall of Branchland, WV, Karen Sue Vasvary & Brian Keith of Catlettsburg, KY, Barbara Wechsler & Ron of Kenova, WV, and Mike Saunders & Angie of Huntington, WV. Additionally, he is survived by one sister June Perdue & her husband Harold of Kenova, WV. Mr. Saunders leaves behind 8 grandhcildren; Shaun Saunders, Jared Saunders, Janda Gallion, Jerry Lee Sutton, Emily Wechsler, Cameron Wechsler, Jami Saunders and Jade Saunders; and 3 great-grandchildren; Morgan Meeks, Jordan Meeks, and Spencer Gallion; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends all whom he dearly loved. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm Friday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Breeding officiating. Burial will follow in the Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to your local Hospice Chapter. These may be made at the funeral home.
