Buel Eugene "Gene" Conner, 87, of Huntington, passed away on May 27, 2015. He was born on October 28, 1927 in Huntington, a son of William Martin Conner and Lois Newman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Jean Conner. Mr. Conner served his country in the U.S. Navy and returned to serve again in the U.S. Army. He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his wife, Caroll F. Conner; his sons, David Eugene Conner (Ladonna) and Danny Joseph Conner (Sara); his daughter, Sheila Jean Larsen (Tom) and his brother, William Conner. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren, David Gene, Chandra, Joey, Justin, Lynne, Michael, Amy, Ellie; nine great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jazlyn, Josia, Giavanna, Chayleigh, Cody, Taylor, Eirinin and Ruaidhri; his special friend, Rex Christian and his cat, �Bubby�. Mr. Conner had several hobbies and they include fishing, woodworking and gardening. His garden was so large you could feed half of Ceredo with it. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo and the American Legion Post 93 in Kenova. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Ceredo at 3:30 P.M. with Pastor Rodney Hale, officiating. Burial to follow at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Ceredo. The visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. at the church before services. The American Legion Post 93 Honor Guard and the U.S. Army will perform military graveside rites at the cemetery. CK 15-025
