Carl "Buck" Gooderham

Carl 'Buck' Gooderham, 79, of Huntington, passed peacefully at home with his family after a short illness with Hospice Care on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. 'Buck' was born on February 11, 1936 in Huntington, WV to the late Ezra L. Gooderham and Grace Wolfe Gooderham. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jamie Gump. Buck graduated from Vinson High School - class of 1954, he was a golden gloves champion. He attended Marshall University on a football scholarship. He gave up boxing and Marshall to raise his family. Buck retired from INCO where he was a lead melter after 38 years. He loved camping, boating with family, and teaching everyone to water ski, he also enjoyed riding motorcycles and woodworking. After he retired from INCO he enjoyed making toys and furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Doris J. Ross Gooderham. He is survived by a son, Carl G. Gooderham Jr. and Rosemary Clifford Gooderham of Huntington; two daughters, Jeanie and Bill Bolt of Beckley, WV, and Marsha Gooderham of Huntington; grandchildren Marybeth and Jason Clark, Tiffany Gooderham and Steve Miller, Jessica and Jamey Schlachter and Aaron Gooderham all of Huntington; great grandchildren Ava Marie Clark and Emma Reece Clark; sister: Rosie Cassel of Lexington,KY.,special Aunt Hazel (Benson) Gooderham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert (Patricia) Ross and William Lowell (Gina) Ross; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Juanita Tingle, Carol (Roger) Buckland, Gerry Huff, Ada McFann, and Della Jones. Friends may call from 5 - 7 pm on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Reger Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Huntington and his caring nurses Jo and Ted.
