Charles “Bo” E. Bohannan, 94, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, September 21, 2019. “Bo” was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on December 5, 1924 to the late Charles Henry Bohannan and Julia Edenton Bohannan. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Julia Ann Lockhart. “Bo” lived a full and happy life. He was a salesman from birth and truly never met a stranger. “ I went out looking for friends and none were there- I went out being a friend and friends were everywhere.” This was the mantra that “ Bo lived by. Anyone who knew “ Bo” knows that he loved to make you laugh. He had a joke for every situation and circumstance and he learned early the value of laughter. The love he had for his wife, Flo, of 71 years, is only surpassed for his Father in heaven. Those who will cherish Bo’s memories are his wife of 71 years, Flo Maynard Bohannan of the home,; children, Janet Bohannan Coates and husband , Paul of Winston-Salem, Anette Bohannan of Winston –Salem, Tom Bohannan and wife, Kim of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Krista Valade (Jayson), Molly Motsinger, Katie Smith( Stan), McKenzie Kenny (Bryce) Jacob Bohannan; great- grandchildren, William Jacob and A.J. Valade, Hannah Motsinger, Lola Mae, Sadie and Stryker Smith, Eliza and Keegan Kenny. A service to celebrate Bo’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point with Reverend John Vernon officiating. The family will greet friends before the service from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home. The graveside committal service will be held in Huntington, West Virginia on Friday, 11:00 a.m. at Woodmere Memorial Park. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Hospice of High Point for their compassionate care.
