CHARLES EDWARD MARCUM, 71, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson Avenue Church of God by Pastor Paul R. Farley. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born Jan. 21, 1938, in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Robert L. and Mae Smith Marcum. Charles was a retired fireman serving the city of Huntington. He was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of God. He loved to play golf with his buddies and will miss them very much. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason A. Marcum. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Lee Boley Marcum-Chadwick; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Edward Marcum of Huntington, and Charles A. 'Chip' and Karen Marcum of Killeen, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin Lee and Mike Pennington of Poquoson, Va., and Cindee Jo and Jeff Lewis of Huntington; six grandchildren, Drew Pennington, Tara Wicks, Nathan Pennington, Elizabeth Lewis, Jacob Lewis and Loranda Conn; five great-grandchildren, Rex, Darian, Candace, Kayla and Hannah; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert L. and Ann Marcum of Huntington; two sisters, Helen Lawson and Polly Radford of Huntington; several nieces and nephews; and a good friend Pat Wilson. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Reger Funeral Home. The Huntington Fire Department will conduct graveside rites. Condolences may be made to the family at www.timeformemory.com/reger.
