Charles Edward Mckinney

Charles Edward McKinney, 71, of Huntington, widower of Shirley Gail Runnels McKinney, passed away Friday February 13, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Roger Mooney. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV. He was born December 2, 1943 in Wayne County, WV, a son of the late Roy and Edra Ferguson McKinney. Charles was a US Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a retired employee of Marshall University and a member of Buffalo Valley Missionary Church. In addition to his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by a son Larry Edward McKinney and brother Roy Benjamin McKinney. Survivors include two daughters Kelly D. Blankenship (Jeffrey Scott Blankenship) of Huntington, Pam Smith of Huntington one grandson, Justin Smith and great-grandson Conner Smith; brother and sister in law Norman and Betty McKinney of Kenova, WV; three sisters Pattie Aileen Nelson of Huntington, Jo Ann Preston of Prichard, WV and Maxine Jeffrey of Kenova and several nieces and nephews.
