Darlene Vance

Darlene Vance, 69, of Prichard, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at her residence surrounded by loved ones after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on March 13, 1946 in Wayne County, WV; a daughter of the late Ernest and Wavie Vance of Cove Gap. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a beloved son, Donald Steven Marcum; three brothers, Ezra Vance, Ernest Vance Jr. and Robert Vance; and three sisters, Pauline Williams, Goldia Williamson and Beatrice Chmielewski. Darlene was a wonderful and much loved mother, grandmother and sister. She truly enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine, gardening, Bible studies and spending time with her family. Her tangible spirit left an impact on all who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Robin (James) Bowens of McCalla, AL, Ernie (Shannon) Marcum of Verdunville, WV and Amanda (David) Mayo of Chapmanville, WV; four grandsons, Joshua Mullins of McCalla, AL, Jacob Workman of Chapmanville, WV, Stevie Horvath and Jared Marcum of West Logan, WV; one great-grandson, Christian Mullins of Dingess, WV; six brothers and sisters, Floyd (Mae) Vance of Branchland, WV, Betty (Robert) Clavenger of Warren, OH, Mildred Friend of Orwell, OH, Nancy Marcum of Verdunville, WV, David (Diane) Vance of Ranger, WV and Brenda Sue (Michael) Tackett of Prichard, WV; dear nieces, Connie (Tony) Perry and Doris (Sonny) Adkins, among numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom she dearly loved. Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home & Cremation Services is entrusted with the care of handling the cremation for the family. In keeping with her wishes, a brief graveside service will be held at Marcum Cemetery at Mud Fork for close family and friends on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1 pm. Eulogies will be delivered by Rev.
