David Lee Martin

July 11, 1945 — June 6, 2017

David Lee Martin, 71, of Lavalette, WV, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. He passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. Born in Kilsythe, WV, David was the son of the late Herman R. Martin and Grada Halstead Martin. He graduated from Vinson High School in 1963 and Marshall University in 1971, both in Huntington, WV. He was a United States Navy veteran. He had a long and successful career as a business partner and manager of several different building supply companies. He attended Lewis Memorial Baptist Church and was a member of Huntington Masonic Lodge # 53 AF&AM and Scottish Rite Bodies. David was married for 50 years to Dianna Berry Martin. They were blessed with three children and two grandsons, to whom he was a devoted Dad and loving Pappy. He is survived by two daughters Dana Leann and David Perault and Brooke Allyson and Bill Evenson; son Jonathan David Martin; grandsons Tye Martin Perault and Alexander William Evenson; brother and sister James William Martin and Nancy Martin Scaggs. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Tuesday June 13 from 11 am until noon at the Reger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Richard Sexton. Burial will be private. Condolences may be made to the family at www.regerfh.com.
