David Lee Spurlock

David Lee Spurlock, 73, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away Friday November 16, 2007 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Mr. Spurlock was retired after 36 years of service at Owens-Illinois in Huntington, WV. He was born September 21, 1934 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Hollis and Kathryn Spurlock and a graduate of Greenup High School and attended Marshall University. He proudly served his country as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Air Force and was a current member, officer, and member of the Honor Guard at American Legion Post 93 in Kenova. He was also a member of VFW Post 1064 in Kenova. Mr. Spurlock leaves behind his wife, Carmen Sue Spurlock of Chesapeake, OH who is an Associate at J.C. Penney hair salon, two sons, Eric Spurlock and his spouse Tammy of Edmonton, KY, and Kevin Spurlock of Greenup, KY, one grandson, Elliott Kyle Spurlock of Edmonton, KY, and one sister, Beverly Dillon of Morehead, KY. Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 19, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Rev. Cleo Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, KY. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 18, 2007 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Huntington or the American Legion Post 93 Honor Guard.
