Dawn Marie Baumgardner

Dawn Marie Baumgardner, 50, of Ceredo won her heavenly crown on Monday, July 1st. She passed peacefully at Cabell Huntington Hospital with her loved ones by her side.

She is survived by her parents Kenneth and Sandra Combs, her children Savannah (Tre) Maynard and Tyrus Baumgardner, her siblings Deanna Keith, David Combs, Shade (Rachel) Combs, Haylie Boatwright, her nephews Michael Keith and Daxton Boatwright, her grandmother Carol Ginn, and her precious Luna. Dawn was preceded in death by her Papa Charles Ginn.

Dawn was born in Madison Ohio on August 10, 1973. She was a 1991 graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Marshall University. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ceredo.

Dawn was an elementary school teacher, a cheer coach, a Sunday school teacher, and a community volunteer. She was a Golden Apple Award winner, a Hometown hero, and Buffalo Elementary Teacher of the year. Her infectious smile and amazing laugh warmed every room she was in. She was known to the many people she impacted by the nicknames Momma Dawn, Ms B, Coach Dawn, and Dawn B. She loved supporting “her kids” (students) outside the classroom and she could often be found at a little league or youth league game. Coaching “her girls” was a source of great joy for her. Her love of our Lord was evident in the light she brought to the world and such a special gift she shared with both her children.

Dawn’s love, laughter, compassion, and kindness touched her students, athletes, and all who knew her; that legacy is hers forever!
