Doborah "Rigsy" Chaffin Dunn

December 21, 1953 — September 20, 2022

Deborah “Rigsy” Chaffin Dunn, 68, of Huntington, WV passed away peacefully at her home September 20, 2022. She was born December 21, 1953, in Huntington. She was a proud “stender” attending West Jr High and Huntington High Schools. She was a bartender in Barboursville and Huntington for many years and the owner of Maxie’s Lounge until her retirement. During those years she met many people who became lifelong friends. Rigsy, as her bar friends knew her, loved to have fun and was always the life of the party. Her proudest moments though was being a “Nan” to her grandchildren. You could see her eyes light up when they walked into the room. She loved being with family and cherished Sunday afternoons at Mom and Dad’s swinging on the front porch with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emanuel and Grace Fizer Chaffin, her baby brother Randy Chaffin and her husband Michael Dunn.

Survivors include her daughter Sarah Parks and her husband Jayson and her son Scott Riggs and his wife Jamie; grandchildren Seth, Jack, Sierra, Ethen, Isabella, Kaylee and Maddie; her sister Judy Sipple; brother David Chaffin; sister-in-law Mitzi Chaffin; brother-in-law John Sipple (Teresa); nephews Jamie and John (Cindy), nieces Jonda and Olivia (Adam); 12 great nieces and nephews; 9 great-great nieces and nephews with one nephew on the way. Debbie is also survived by many cousins and friends, with whom she shared many adventures during the years; her lifelong friend Donna and her “adopted” sister Nanny Di (Dianna).

There will no be service at this time. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.  Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, is assisting the family with arrangements.  www.regerfh.com.
