Donnie E. Adkins, Sr.

Donnie E. Adkins, Sr., 74, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.  He was born February 18, 1949, in Huntington, a son of the late Edison Lowell Adkins, Sr. and Grace Louise Truitt Adkins.  Donnie was a retired foreman with Tri-State Plating and was a veteran of the US Army.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister Vera Jean Robertson and brother Edison L. Adkins, Jr.  Survivors include his children and their spouses Donnie E. Adkins, Jr. (Bev), Tammy Lynn Oberdorf (Eric) and Angie Perry (Rick); special sister Mary Stanley and a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington.  Burial will follow at 2 pm in the Donel C. Kinnard State Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV.  Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.
