Doris Joann Ekers

Doris Joann Ekers, age 81, of Prichard, WV passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on November 19, 1933 in Shoals, WV; she was the daughter of the late James Major Ward and Florence Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Chester Ekers and her son, Ward Jeffrey Ekers; two brothers, Basil Ward and Tom Ward; three sisters, Bertha Ward, Lorraine Edwards and Edna Craft and one grandson, Thomas V. Ekers. She is survived by her sister, Eugie Walters of Lebanon, IN; two sons, William (Donna) Ekers of Prichard and Nolan Keith Ekers also of Prichard; her daughter, Gaila Damron of Prichard; two special nieces, Karen Adkins and Valanie Edwards, both of Prichard; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
