Doris Perkins Altemeier

Doris Perkins Altemeier age 93, home at last with her Heavenly Father, on September 26, 2014. She was born February 8, 1921 in Barboursville, WV a daughter of the late G.W. Gilkison and Elsie Johnson Curry. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Burley Perkins and Raymond Altemeier, one sister, Juanita Liston, son James W. Perkins, daughter Yolanda Perkins and great grandson Nathan Hensley. Those that survive her include, one sister Margaret (Randal) Fountain, two daughters, Lenore Thompson, Angela Lucas, two step daughters, Charlene and Helen Rae, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren, and a host of friends, loved ones and church family. Doris was a retired nurse, a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church and proudly served as a “Rosie the Riveter”. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Randall Robertson. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Reger Funeral Home.
