Dorothy Jean Amos Preece

Dorothy Jean Amos Preece, 91, of Kenova, WV went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Meeting her in heaven are her husband, Joseph Freland “Joe” Preece; daughter, Bonnie Sue Varney; grandson John Allen Varney; great-grandchildren Tristan Joseph Ezekiel Shelton and Sydney Kay France; her parents John and Mary Amos; two brothers and three sisters. Surviving are her sister-in-law Mary Maynard; children Danny Preece (Ann) of Huntington, WV, Connie Martin (Jim), Rick Preece (Diana) all of Roanoke, VA, Randy Preece (Goldie) of South Point, OH and Kay Clark of Huntington, WV; 11 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 19 step-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 15 step-great-great grandchildren. Dorothy faithfully attended Philadelphia United Baptist Church as long as her health would allow. She was loved and known for her love of Christ by all who knew her. She loved her family with all her heart until her last breath. She retired as a seamstress from Corbin, Ltd in Huntington, WV. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her personal caregivers Debbie Bator, Renee Mullins and Jenny Walker. Without them she would not have been able to return to her home here on earth before her passing. They loved her nearly as much as her family. We would also like to thank all the staff of Hospice of Huntington and Hospice of Wayne for their care and support during this time. Funeral services will be conducted at Noon, Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington by Rev. Tom Dyer. Burial will follow in Bowen Cemetery, Wayne County, WV.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington
