Douglas Welborn

December 16, 1941 — February 18, 2015

DOUGLAS ANSEL “DOUG” WELBORN, 73, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Dr. Jerry Warren. Doug was born on December 16, 1941, in Anderson, S.C., the son of the late Charles Ansel and Inez Crocker Welborn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Riggs Welborn and a brother Roger Martin Welborn. Doug was a 1961 graduate of Boys High School in Anderson, S.C., and a Masseur with the YMCA in Buffalo, N.Y., and the YMCA in Huntington, W.Va., where he retired. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Phyllis Welborn Evatt and James E. Evatt, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jack and Joyce Riggs; nieces and nephews James E. Evatt III and Justin A. Evatt, Elaine Zuk, Jeannine Book and Melissa Moody. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. Donations may be made in the name of Douglas A.
