Earl Franklin Wellman, 84 of Prichard, WV peacefully departed this life on Sunday, May 13, 2018. He was born June 26, 1933 in Fort Gay, WV; a son of Clarence and Vangie Wellman. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Jo Ellen Wellman; his parents; his two brothers, Tommy Wellman and Charles Wellman; his sister Mary Selbee; his son- in law, Larry Flower and grandson Chipper Ryan Willis. Frank is survived by his 2 children: Angie Wellman Willis (Tim) of Prichard, WV and Lora Wellman Flowers of Myrtle Beach, SC; his 6 grandchildren who called him Pap or Pappy: Cindy Dixon (Tracy) of Wayne, WV, Wendy Mosteller (Robert) of Sod, WV, Tracy Fuller of Prichard, WV, Haley Hughes (Tyler) of Huntington, WV, Wyatt Tabor and Tess Tabor of Wayne, WV. Also, surviving are 6 great grandchildren that he dearly loved: Riley Dixon, Lydia Adkins, Dawson Mosteller, Brady Dixon, Sofi Adkins and Beckham Hughes. He is survived by a loving brother and sister: Annabelle Thompson of Wadsworth, OH and Robert Wellman of Louisa, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the time of the Korean conflict. He served his community for over 30 years of service as Postmaster in Prichard, WV. Also, he was involved with the Prichard Volunteer Fire Department for many years, where he also served as Chief. Frank was a humble caring soul who was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved to walk in the woods, hunt, fish, and to entertain anyone for a good laugh. The family would like to give a special thanks to several caregivers that have helped with his care over the past year, and to friends who have stopped by to visit with him. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home on Thursday May 17, 2018. After the visitation, we will go in procession to Docks Creek Cemetery for the Graveside service that will be at 2 p.m. A dear Family friend, Kevin Dixon, will be officiating.
