Edith Adkins Akers

Edith Akers, 76, of Kenova passed away at Kingsbrook Healthcare on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. She was born November 07, 1935 to Louis Henderson Adkins and Mae Burchett Adkins. She was a homemaker and is survived by her husband Gwinn Lowell Akers. Her daughters: Debbie (Larry) Hutchison, Gwendolyn Graham, Delores (Raymond) Scarberry, Edith Reyna (Dale) Maynard, Georgia Ann (Mike) Lawhon, Gloria (Jim) McCoy, and a son Timmy G. Akers. Her sisters: Sylvia Lee Karnes and Dorothy Jean (Joe) Johnson; and a brother James M. (Della) Adkins. She was blessed with several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. . Edith loved to care for her kids and her grandkids and dearly loved her cat �Frosty.� The family would like to thank her friends and her caregivers at Kingsbrook. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Friday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Dale Maddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Docks Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until time of service at Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
