Edwin ?Eddie? Osborne, 70, of Huntington passed away Thursday February 24, 2005 in St. Mary?s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Earl Waugh. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born March 26, 1934 in Huntington a son of the late Walker and Bertie Edmonson Surbur Osborne. He was a retired radar technician with the National Weather Service. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 16 of Huntington. Eddie was the director of the Shriner?s Babe Ruth baseball tournament for 34 years, the director of the Judy Osborne 13 year old baseball tournament since 1998, the commissioner of the WV District 4 Babe Ruth and Vice President of Western Babe Ruth located at St. Clouds Commons. Eddie served as an usher at both Marshall University football and basketball games. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #2586, the Huntington Shrine Club, Beni Kedem Shrine of Charleston, Royal Order of Jester #111 and Grand Chapter of WV RAM Huntington #6. Eddie was also a member of the Huntington Lodge #53 AF&AM, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, 32 degree Mason and the Commandery Knights Templar #09. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Judith Stuart Osborne; two brothers George Osborne and Donald Osborne and a sister Dorothy Sharp. Survivors include two sisters Mary Jane Lewis of Huntington and Catherine Ross Caudill of Altamont Springs, FL; a sister in law Ellen Osborne and a brother in law Richard Stuart both of Huntington; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition his is survived by his extended family, his friend, companion and caretaker Betty J. Ronk Dixon, Zechariah C. Dixon, Dianna L. Noble, Dustin N. Noble and his wife Andra and their children Maddox and Cory Noble and Misty D. Riddle and her husband Justin and their child Hailey Riddle. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm on Monday at the Reger Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the Huntington Shriner?s Club Transportation Fund, 1615 Arlington Blvd., Huntington, 25705. Howard P. Hall VFW Post 1064 will perform military graveside rites. Huntington Lodge #53 AF&AM will conduct Masonic Graveside Rites. Ushers of the Huntington Shrine Club will serve as pallbearers, Jack Childers, Albert Tenney, John Woods, Gary Arthur, Bob Hood, Gene Coleman, Pat Oshel and Lyle McCullough.
