Elizabeth "Betty" Hall Short

Elizabeth Ann Betty Hall Short, 85, of Huntington, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Heritage Center. The Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, July 23, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church by Monsignor Lawrence Luciana. Rite of Committal will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Betty was born on November 1, 1924 in Bluefield, WV the daughter of the late James Raymond Hobgood. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Harold J. Hall and husband Alex Short. Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and retired from the Social Security Administration Hearing and Appeals Division and she worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital. Betty is survived by her son and daughter in law: Jim and Lynn Hall of Virginia, four daughters and sons in law; C. Ann and Philip Reilly of Glen Dale, WV, Rebecca Gadell of North Carolina, Charlotte and Jay Brown of Huntington and Paula Hall of Huntington. Thirteen grand children and ten great grand children and Sister Rosalie Rosebud Belanger Friends may call from 4:30-7 pm Thursday and the Christian Wake Service will be at 4:00pm at the Reger Funeral Home. Bettys life was greatly enhanced by the gentle care from the staffs of Pro Nursing and the Heritage Center Homestead Unit and Hospice of Huntington.
