Epperson Clark "E.C." Maynard

Epperson E.C. Maynard, 92, of Huntington went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2016. Graveside funeral rites will be on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Spring Valley Memory Gardens by Pastor Jerry Matt. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 93, Kenova, WV. E.C. was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII he was an Army paratrooper serving with the 504th Parachute Infantry Co. B; he was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from American Electric Power. He was a 3rd Degree Mason and member of Huntington Lodge #53 AF&AM for over 50 years. He was born on August 5, 1923 in Wayne County, WV, the son of the late Jay and Sadie Scaggs Maynard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Burgess Maynard. He is survived by his beloved sister Loreen (Sis) Maynard of Huntington, three children Deborah Kay Rogers of New Port Richey, Fl., Brenda June Kramer of Ashland Ky., and David Clark Maynard of Huntington, WV., nephew and niece Larry and Lisa Maynard both of Proctorville, Ohio, four grandchildren Michael Wesley, Stacy Leavines, Christopher and Jeremy Geise; five great grandchildren Katelyn and Christopher Leavines, CJ Geise, Ben and Sam Wesley. There will be no visitation. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family. American Legion Post 93 of Kenova will conduct military graveside rites.
