Eric Chandler Tardy

We regret to announce the sudden, unexpected passing of Eric Chandler Tardy, age 36, of Huntington, WV, on March 6th, 2022. Eric passed away at home after a brief three day illness while sleeping. Eric had accepted Christ as his Savior at age 14, and is now home in heaven with his uncle Jimmy, and grandmother Mimi in the presence of their Lord. Eric was born January 13th, 1986, in Cabell County, West Virginia. Eric was a 2004 graduate of Huntington High School where he was a standout athlete. He was also a 2018 graduate of Tri-State Barber College in Ashland Ky. He was a member of Transformation Community Church in Huntington, WV. Being a huge sports fan, he loved nothing more than obnoxiously cheering on his favorite teams which included the Kansas City Chiefs, Milwaukee Bucks, Ohio State Buckeyes, North Carolina Tar-Heels, and lastly the Thundering Herd. Eric loved to fish. While at Kiawah Island, South Carolina, he had the experience of a lifetime caching and releasing 24 largemouth bass. This was done in about an hour and a half while never moving from his “favorite” spot! Eric also loved his animals, dogs and cats were his delight. He was a very giving and thoughtful person. His spare time was taken up by helping others in need. A dear Facebook friend described him this way. “We all lost a great friend and a person who’s heart was so big he would do anything for anyone with no questions asked. Whether it was a free haircut to help out a child, a ride to help someone make it to work or a simple kind word to brighten someone's day Eric was just that. Eric was and is loved by so many people, and he loved all of them just the same. It is my prayer that his memory lives on in our hearts and minds as vividly as if he was still here with us today.” No truer words could ever be spoken, so as a family we all echo these same sentiments and feelings. Officiating the service will be Reverend Deb Winters and Reverend Jay Mosser at Reger Funeral Chapel, 1242 Adams Avenue, Huntington. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m., with the funeral beginning at 2 p.m on Friday, March 11, 2022. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Reception to follow at Huntington Community Church, 469 Norway Avenue. Childcare will be available.
