Essie F Gue Smith

Essie Gue Smith, 77, of Kenova passed away Sunday September 27, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Mrs. Smith was born November 1, 1931 to the late Robert Preston and Sarah Emma (Hyatt) Hamm in Greenup, KY. Mrs. Smith was a retired custodian for the Wayne County Board of Education and was a minister for the Pentecostal Tabernacle. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Roy Gue, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by two daughters: Patty (Charles) Bryant of Kenova and Sharon (Carl) Smith of Catlettsburg, two sons: Rick (Aimee) Gue of Huntington and Billy (Angie) Gue of Kenova, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a brother Oval Hamm and a sister Dorothy Cox. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with JR Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Docks Creek Cemetery in Kenova. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home.
