Eva Mae Dixon Burke, 86, a resident of Heritage Manor, and formerly of Kenova,was welcomed into the arms of Our Lord, January 11, 2009. She was a woman who loved to garden, and share with everyone what she grew. She was born August 17, 1922 in Kenova, WV to the late Thomas and Nellie Swanson Dixon. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin M. Burke, sisters Pauline Sanchez, Maxine Jorgensen, Phyllis Brown, Margie Robinette, Donna Jean Parker, and Ruth O'dell; brothers Dexel, Robert, Wilmer, and Burman (Jeff). She is survived by a loving family, her sons, Michael Scott (Cheri) of Saybrook, IL, James E. (Ellen) of Oklahoma City, Ok; daughters, Pamela Ball of Kenova, Peggy Brown (Ron) of San Antonio, Fl; two grandsons Alex Burke of Saybrook, IL, Chris Artrip of Lavalette; three granddaughters Kristina and Lindsey Ball of Kenova, Samatha Burke Light of Cobalt, CT, four great grandchildren Raegan and Christopher Light of Cobalt, CT, Taylor and Thomas Artrip of Lavalette, step-great granddaughter Carrie Sparks and step- great-great granddaughter Allysen Sparks of Lavalette; brother Thomas Keith Dixon of Collins, Oh and sister Lyndle (Ted) Whiteside of Columbus, Oh. A Celebration of Life is being planned for later in the Spring. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Kenova VFW.
