Frances Josephine Ruff Smith

Frances Ruff Smith, 89, of Ceredo, WV, passed away, Sunday March 24, 2024 at Madison Park, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home Ceredo-Kenova Chapel. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Ceredo, WV.  She was born June 11, 1934 in Thaxton, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Dooley Overstreet.  Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo and she also attended Victory Baptist Church of Kenova.  She was also a member of the American Legion Post 93 Women's Auxiliary and the VFW Post 1064 Women's Auxiliary.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, John L. Ruff and by Laddie Smith.  Survivors include three sons, Richard, John, Jr. and Tim Ruff; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie (Doug) Adkins and Donna (Jim) Spry; twelve grandchildren, Jeff (Katrina) Ruff, Ritchie Ruff, Aimee Chiovare, Coley Ruff, Timothy Ruff, Bryan (Polly) Adkins, Mark (Brandy) Adkins, Derek (Laura) Adkins, Staci (Brian) Watts, Jimmie Spry, Stephanie Spry, Patrick (Brandee) Spry; fourteen grandchildren, Monica, Kassidy and Jacob Ruff, Dominic Chiovare, Presleigh, Bryce, Scarlett and Jensen Adkins, Zachary, Evan and Brody Watts, Jaelyn Ellis, Cade Edwards and Cali Spry.  She enjoyed homemaking, fishing and her church family.  Friends may call from noon until service time at the funeral home.  Condolences may be made at www.regerfh.com.
