Francis "Frank" Cecil Davis

Francis Cecil Davis, Jr., of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Huntington, WV passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 after a yearlong battle with esophageal cancer. Frank was born on April 8, 1951 in Huntington to the late Francis Cecil and Quindora Herring Davis. Frank achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America where he learned his life long affinity for astronomy and constellations. Following graduation from Barboursville High School in Barboursville, WV, Frank attended Marshall University in Huntington and graduated with a BBA & MBA in Business Management. Frank served in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years as an Operations Specialist. In his youth he attended Pea Ridge Baptist Church in Huntington and, as an adult, he was a member and usher captain at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Duluth, GA. Frank loved his friends and family, enjoyed the out of doors and nature, and was passionate about music and vintage and classic cars. Frank brought joy and laughter to every occasion with his optimism, sense of humor and quick wit. Frank’s career in sales spanned his lifetime working as a Senior Sales Representative, a Product Launch Manager/Instructor, a High Volume Regional Sales Manager, and Sales Dealer Instructor/Field Sales Trainer. He was very accomplished in sales and training and was the recipient of various awards throughout his career. Frank is survived by his wife, Dora Templeton Davis of Charlotte, NC, the mother of his children, Theresa Joan Davis, his children, Frank Gabriel Davis and his wife, Brittany of Lawrenceville, GA, Cara Ruth Davis of Atlanta, GA, and Michael Charles Davis of Winder, GA. Frank had one granddaughter, Elizabeth Ruth Davis of Lawrenceville, GA, a sister, Julia Koehler and her husband Dr. Rolf of Pulaski, VA, a brother, James Rodgers and his wife, Susan, and several nieces and nephews.  Frank was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Craig Davis, and sister, Janet Hillman.The Celebration of Frank’s Life is scheduled for Fri., 10/5 at 11:00 am with Visitation at 10:00 am Hickory Grove  Baptist Church 7200 E WT Harris Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28215.
