Franklyn Moncer

Franklyn Lawrence Moncer, 85, of Huntington, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Andy Magnusson. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington. Frank was born on April 26, 1928, in Lancaster, Ohio, the son of the late Ernest Oral and Julia Layberger Moncer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Oral Moncer and a grandson, Aaron Moncer. Frank was retired from the C&P Telephone Company, and a veteran of the USMC having served in WWII. He was a graduate of Vinson High School and a member of Baptist Temple Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorcas Harshbarger Moncer, two sons and daughters in law: Gene and Sherry Moncer of Lexington, S.C., and Dale and Barbara Moncer of Louisa, KY. Step daughter and son in law: Nancy and Oliver Toole of Gainesville, GA., and five grandchildren: Jason, Amanda, Sarah and Chris Moncer and Cara Flack. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Home.
