Fred Mccoy Jr.

Fred McCoy Jr., 81, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. He was a retired coal miner and grocery store proprietor born August 22, 1929 to the late Fred and Carrie (Jude) McCoy. He united in marriage to Madeline (Wingler) McCoy. To this union were born 9 children, Larry McCoy, Phillip (Ann) McCoy, Kevin McCoy, Scott McCoy, Darren (Beverly) McCoy, Angie McCoy, & Ericka (Gary) Gillman. He was reunited in heaven with his dearly beloved mother, father, daughter Sharon Kay, son Shawn Eric McCoy, grandson Rocco Ramey and two brothers Hiram McCoy and Earl McCoy. He will be remembered with love and affection by his wife, children and 8 grandchildren, Misty Dawn (Danny) Marshall, Freddie McCoy, David McCoy, Lisa (Andy) Sisler, Christopher McCoy, Michael McCoy, Tessa Ramey, & Savanna Gillman, ten great grandchildren, seven sisters and two brothers along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Fred was a devout Christian with a kind and gentle soul. Serving the Lord and sharing the word of God brought him much happiness. He was a cherished family man, husband and soulmate to Madeline for sixty one years, a wise, nurturing father and grandfather, a loving brother and special friend to many. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. Celebration of life will be conducted at 3pm Sunday at the Route 60 Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Richie Fluty officiating. Burial will follow at the Docks Creek Cemetery. Ceredo - Kenova Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to the Alzheimers Association.
