Freda Mae Bays

Freda Mae Bays, 75, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 4 pm at the Crockett Cemetery, Wayne, WV. Burial will follow. Freda was born on June 17, 1947 in Huntington, W.Va., the daughter of the late Fred and Elsie Crockett Napier. She worked as a Front End Supervisor for Kroger for 45 years. Prior to her illness, Freda enjoyed working with seniors and working with her great nephew, Seth Jarrell selling produce at the Central City Farmers Market. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lemuel Johnson Napier and Samuel Napier; and one nephew, Jackson L. Kelley II. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Samuel (Melissa) Bays; two grandchildren, Alexia and Shad Bays; one sister, Doris (Jackson) Kelley; one nephew, Jason (Ellen) Kelley; three nieces, Jackie (Mike) Jones, Susan Kelley-Jarrell, and Samantha Napier Hage; and several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of St. Mary's Medical Center Pulmonary Unit and RN Hannah at Hospice House. Friends may call from 1 pm until 3 pm at the Reger Funeral Home. A procession will leave for the cemetery from the funeral home at 3 pm following the visitation.
