Frederick Joe Flowers, 78, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 14, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Tim Lester and Rev. Doug Booten. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. He was born October 14, 1934 in Cabell County, WV a son of the late William and Alma Overby Flowers. Frederick was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. He was a retired employee of Mountaineer Gas Co. and was a member of the Washington Baptist Church and attended the Rt. 60 Freewill Baptist Church of Kenova. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dolores J. Flowers; brother Ray S. Flowers and sister Billie Faye Rakes. Survivors include a son and daughter in law Frederick Keith and Lori Flowers of Huntington; two daughters and sons in law Cathy and Jim Dabney of Milton, WV and Debbie and Mike Donahoe of Danville, WV; four grandchildren Jason Donahoe, Bridgett Freeman, Sheri Taylor and Brett Dabney; five great grandchildren Candra and Caiden Freeman and Peyton, Faith and Natalie Taylor; sisters in law and brothers in law Janice and Toby Shy; Judy and Jim Bledsoe; Joan and Thurman Tomblin and Gladys Flowers and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. The Veterans Honor Guard of American Legion Post 16 of Huntington will conduct military graveside rites.
