George E. Patterson

George E. Patterson, 84, of Kenova died Monday September 4, 2006 at the Huntington VA Regional Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1922 in Ceredo a son to the late Link Patterson and Emma Farrah Patterson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alva Jane Patterson, a son, George Glen Patterson, four sisters Kathleen Pierce, Ruby Torres, Thelma Chiodo, and Irene Felix, and three brothers, Clyde Patterson, Glen Patterson, and Jim Bob Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a proud Veteran having served in the US Navy during World War II as a CB. He was a retired Iron Worker of the Ashland Local #769 and a member of the Kenova American Legion Post #93. Survivors include a daughter; Beverly Hazlett and her husband Pat of Ashland, KY; a brother, Link Patterson Jr.; and three grandchildren Sarah Patterson, Richard Lee Hazlett, and Ronald Pat Hazlett Jr. Funeral services for Mr. Patterson will be held at 1:00pm Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Rev. Cleo Watson officiating. Entombment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. Military Rites will be performed at the cemetery by the Kenova American Legion Post #93. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday at the Funeral Home.
