Ginger Savannah Coffman

January 12, 1992 — March 16, 2017

Ginger Savannah Coffman was eagerly welcomed into this world by her parents Michael Todd Coffman and Rebecca Brooks Coffman on January 12, 1992, in Anchorage, Alaska. She passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the age of 25. Visitation will be held at Reger Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 23, 2017 with a Memorial Service to follow. She was preceded in death by her father Michael Todd Coffman and her “Poppa” Kenneth Smith. Surviving relatives are her mother, Rebecca Brooks Coffman, brothers Nico and Corbin Coffman, aunt Paula Brooks, great-aunt/grandmother Lorrie Lockhart, aunt and uncle Misty and Dloyd Sparks, grandmother Ginger Smith Bauer, great grandmother Sylvia Coffman. She was an intelligent little girl and began taking gifted classes in the second grade. Although we moved a lot (Unalaska, Ypsilanti, San Diego) she was always quick to make new friends and get involved in any/all sports and activities. Savannah was involved in tap dance, karate, soccer, football (on an all-boys’ team), theater, and language. She had a fondness for Japanese culture and started learning the language in high school. She was in the Japanese Club at Marshall University and tutored two young Japanese boys for years. She would morph into a full-blown “nihonjin” whenever she met a fellow Japanese speaker. Savannah was very open and loving to everyone she met, including animals. She was always full of energy and was known for her bear hugs, which would often lift the “hug-ee” off the ground. She was an avid reader and jigsaw puzzle solver. She loved a variety of music, from Billy Joel to Disturbed. She adored animals and tried to bring home every dog, cat, and rabbit she came across. Her two best fuzzy friends were her dogs, Poptart and Yuki. Savannah loved doing online karaoke so much she often performed duets with herself. She worshipped the Les Miserables soundtrack and knew every word to every song. Friends and co-workers have described her as sympathetic, selfless, fun, compassionate, wacky, hyper, hard-working, accepting, non-judgmental, outgoing, confident, kind, influential, and unique. She lit up a room. She stopped time. Faces grinned when she walked through the door. She had a positive impact on everyone she met. Her smile was contagious. She has left a huge void in our hearts and in the world. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.regerfh.com.
