Gladys Maxine Jarvis, of Huntington, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 19, 2018 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted by Bill DeMoss at 1 pm on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington. Maxine was born April 7, 1930 the daughter of the late Leander and Armilda Clark Frazier. She was preceded in death by her husband John Owen Jarvis (Jack); her loving daughter, Jan Lynn Price; brothers, Herman and Pate Frazier; sisters, Abby Lee Frazier, Charlene Sizemore, Dolores Jean Williams; and a niece, Sharon Gayle Williams. She is survived by her loving and devoted children, John Lee Jarvis, William Gary Jarvis (Beverly), and Jina Leah Ward (Gary); her grandchildren, Carolee Hale (Chris), John Lee Jarvis II (Jessica), Mark Owen Price (Angie), Matthew Dale Price (Kim), Michael Price (Sam), T.J. Jarvis (Michelle), Chad Jarvis, Chase Ward (Corie), Beckett Ward, and thirteen great grandchildren. Maxine had a multi-faceted working life, from being a mutual fund investor, to owning and operating Maxine’s Wig Shop and Beauty Salon in Ashland, KY to her partnership with her brother in a private investigations service, Herman Frazier Investigations. Her most famous case was being hired by former teamster Jimmy Hoffa to conduct a private investigation in Nashville, TN. Maxine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
