Gregory Lee Hazelett

Gregory Lee Hazelett, 63 of Huntington, WV passed away suddenly, on July 22, 2024 at his home.  He was born May 26, 1961 a son of the late Henry and Dee Kennedy Hazelett.  Greg, known to most as "Cooter", was a "transportation engineer", as he liked to say, for basically his entire career.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and camping and attended Mt. Union United Methodist Church..   Those that knew Greg well, knew he could tell a good story, was a true friend and loved harder than anyone else.  But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially being Pap-Pap to his grand-babies.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a cousin Lil Stephens and his brother-in-law, Pat Ray.  He is survived by his wife Laura Gaskin Hazelett, son, Evan Hazelett (Sara), one daughter Shelby White, two precious grand babies: Raegan and Wade White; two brothers-in-law: Jeff (Anita) Gaskin, Greg (Bev) Gaskin, one sister-in-law, Peggy Ray; nieces and nephews: Kristi Banks, Michael Gaskin, Shanna and Adam Gaskin and Andy Ray, and his paw friend, his boxer, Annie.  A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, WV.  Funeral services will be conducted  at 1:00 PM in the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Amy McNeil.  Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.regerfh.com.
