Gregory Scott Fry, of Huntington, WV, passed away suddenly, Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born October 1, 1961 to the late Eris Ransom Fry and Norma Porter Fry. Greg is survived by his brother, Ronald (Brenda) Fry of Lavalette, WV and sister, Deborah Lucas of Huntington. Nieces and Nephews, Justin (Angela) Lucas, Kim (Mickey) Kennedy, David (Debbie) Fry and Tricia (Craig) Preece; great nieces and nephews, Megan Lucas, Philip (Kristen), Sarah, Ellie, Kate and Luke Kennedy, Blake Fry, Taylor Fry, Haley (Tyler) Dugan, Megan (Austin) Middleton, CJ Preece, Courtney (Hunter) Douglas and his cat, Nugget. Greg also leaves behind life long friends, Rick Starkey and children, Ray Crowder and Steve Hufstetler and many more. He will be forever immortalized in the written word by very close friend Craig Johnson, author of the Longmire Series of novels. In the novel “Any Other Name,” Greg was included as a character that saves the damsel in distress and the title hero, Walt Longmire. And that is truly the kind of guy he was. Fierce to defend those he loved! He was an avid gun collector and loved spending time at the shooting range with family and friends. Greg was employed by Deangelo Brothers as a chemical specialist truck driver. He also worked at Harley-Davidson in both Huntington and Pittsburgh, PA. which fueled his passion for racing ATVs. Greg was employed by Heiner’s Bakery for many years. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Bob McGlone at 5 pm Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington.
