Gwendolyn Maynard Damron

Gwendolyn Maynard Damron, 74, left her mortal body to be with the Lord on 15 September 2011 at St Marys Hospital. She was born February 13, 1937 in McComas, WV to the late Romeo Maynard, and Minnie Clark. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Okey Clark, and a brother Hoyt Maynard. She was a retired real estate professional and current President of the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women, Wayne County Club. She was also the recipient of the Democrat of the Year award in 2010. She leaves to morn her husband of 56 years, Dannie R. Damron, a son Dannie R. Damron Jr. of Huntington, and a daughter Lynn M. Byard of Columbus OH, 5 grandsons, Christopher Luke Damron, Dannie Trey Damron III, Mark Allen Byard II, Adam Spencer Byard, Corey Brian Byard. Also surviving is one brother Jess Maynard of Montana and Judy Hale. The family will receive friends and family at 6 pm on Saturday, September 17 followed by a memorial service at 7 pm at the Reger Funeral Home & Chapel.
