HARRISON 'Jack' LOCHER, 81, of Huntington passed Saturday, June 11, 2005, at home with family. Jack was born November 11, 1923, in Huntington, the son of the late John B. and Anna L. Locher. Survivors include his wife, Patricia J. Locher; one daughter, Brenda K. Keeling of Dunbar, W.Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harry F. and Cathy Locher and Jack D. and Nancy Locher, all of Huntington; grandchildren include granddaughter, Sandra K. and David Woodward of Cullpeper, Va., and grandsons, Thomas F. and Julie Locher of Cullpeper, Va., and G. Michael Locher of Russell Springs, Ky.; and great-grandsons, Daniel and Derek Woodward and Thomas F. Locher Jr. He is also survived by his sisters, Martha O?Donnell of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Betty Creamer of Vienna, W.Va. Mr. Locher served as a CPO in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he graduated from West Virginia Technical College, and he taught for several years in public school systems in Maryland and Washington, D.C. He eventually returned to Huntington for a teaching position at Lincoln Junior High, where he retired from in 1980 as assistant principal and industrial arts teacher. He was a Lifetime Member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 2, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1064 and PUFL of the American Legion Post 16. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005, by the Rev. Steve Grimes at Reger Funeral Home and Chapel, followed by military honors at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2005, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
