James Edward Maher

James E. Maher, 81 of Ceredo died Saturday, September 3, 2006 at the Hospice House in Huntington. He was born April 3, 1925 in Covington, KY to Edward James and Daisy (Shafer) Maher. Mr. Maher was a member of Kenova Methodist Church and a Veteran, having served in the Navy during World War II. He was a retired Account Executive for WOWK Television. Mr. Maher was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Irene Steinkamp. Mr. Maher is survived by his wife of 58 years, Holleen �Holly� Maher of Ceredo; two daughters Karen Pirschel and her husband Bill of Mt. Sterling, KY and Paula Allen and her husband Donald of Inez, KY; and one son Mark Maher and his wife Jackie of Baton Rouge, LA. Additional survivors include six grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Saltwell Cemetery in Inez, KY. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday September 5, 2006 at Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home and from 6-8pm Wednesday September 6, 2006 at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to Hospice of Huntington or Ceredo Methodist Church. These may be made at the funeral home.
